    Julia Somerville visited the Staffordshire Laboratory on 11th June for the BBC programme Rip Off Britain. The programme makers were interested in looking at cosmetics that were fake versions of proprietary brands and contained high levels of contaminant metals. This issue has been high profile in the news recently.

    The BBC submitted three samples of cosmetics that were tested during the filming. One of the samples contained high levels of lead and copper.
