Current year UK and EU legislation is listed on the main pages. Legislation for earlier years, can be accessed through the "Archive" link.

For UK legislation the listings start on 1 January 2000 and are provided with live links to the HMSO website where the full text can be obtained. The legislative position within the UK is now complex with legislation emanating from the UK Parliament, The Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly and the Northern Ireland Assembly. Some UK Parliament legislation only applies to part of the UK. To aid navigation the Statutory Instruments from the UK Parliament, Statutory Instruments from the Scottish Parliament, Statutory Instruments from the Welsh Assembly and the Statutory Rules of Northern Ireland are listed separately.

EU legislation is listed starting from that published in the Official Journal of 28 April 2000. Those Regulations, Directives or Decisions which could impact on areas of interest to the Public Analyst Service are listed with direct links to the English text in Eur-Lex. To access the text of the Official Journal (but not the index page) you will need Adobe® Acrobat® Reader installed on your computer.
